The Flintshire Challenge
Every October
The Flintshire Challenge is an annual endurance event held along the Clwydian Range. It is organised by Flintshire County Council and Birkenhead North End Cycle Club. The event takes place in October and has built up a reputation with local riders as being the ideal test of summer training.

The Merida 100 is back in Ruthin and bigger than ever. Last year saw over 1000 participants take on what was widely regarded as the best, and toughest course of the series, and this year will be no different. With the event HQ again at the rugby club and some slight alterations to the course we are sure that this years event will be an event bigger success than last years! The North Wales Mountain Bike Association are one of the more active mountain bike clubs in the UK, and have in the past held many national points races and even the nation championships. It is rare that the club don’t have anything in the pipeline so check out their website to get the latest.

The event consists of 2 cross country courses. Long ride is approx. 48 miles. Short ride is approx 23 miles. Both are on single track, forestry tracks, fire roads , private land and minor lanes so a mountain bike is recommended. Start is from the village of Cyffylliog near Ruthin, Denbighshire N. Wales. All profits go to charity.
