The Flintshire Challenge

The Flintshire Challenge is an annual endurance event held along the Clwydian Range. It is organised by Flintshire County Council and Birkenhead North End Cycle Club. The event takes place in October and has built up a reputation with local riders as being the ideal test of summer training.

Kona 100 endurance
This year saw the Kona 100 endurance series coming to the Clwydian Range for the first time. The event is based in Ruthin and has put the ‘Clwyds’ well and truly on the map. John Lloyd series organiser believes that “it was the best course out of the three events this year.” High praise indeed considering the quality of routes in the previous rounds.

The North Wales Mountain Bike Association
The North Wales Mountain Bike Association are one of the more active mountain bike clubs in the UK, and have in the past held many national points races and even the nation championships. It is rare that the club don’t have anything in the pipeline so check out their website to get the latest.
