This short ride meanders its way through the forest of Moel Famau, climbing steadily to a high point at the edge of the forest with spectacular views over the Merseyside and beyond. Then after a great descent you re-enter the forest to ride back to your start point on the lower slopes of the Clwydian Range.
This short ride from Cilcain up to the ridge of the Clwydian Range allows the less experienced rider to take in the impressive views over the Vale of Clwyd towards Snowdonia. After a steady climb from the village along the old county road, there is an exciting singletrack descent back to the village for a well deserved drink at the village pub.
The baby brother of the Up To The Lake route, this ride allows you to circumnavigate Llyn Brenig, a large man made reservoir. With its start point at the visitor centre cups of tea and cakes are never too far away. The route over the dam wall and around the shore line provides that wilderness feeling, whilst not having to endure the long climbs and difficult terrain to get there. Certainly one for all the family with only one noticeable climb.
This semi-urban circular route navigates its way from Brickfields Pond in Rhyl, to the Sea Front. Then follows the coastal cycle way to Prestatyn before heading inland on the Prestatyn Dyserth Way cycle route. Although most of this route utilises cycle ways there are some points which require riding on roads which can be quite conjested at times and care must be taken.
A recent addition to cycling opportunities in Denbighshire is the Coed Nercwys Multi-User Trail. Designed to be accessible for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, this 2 mile circular route through the forest is ideal for families wanting somewhere safe to cycle.
