Llandegla Mountain Bike Centre

Not Yet Open – Read On For Further Details...

The County of Denbighshire is the gateway to the sport of mountain biking in North Wales and at the heart of the location lies Llandegla Forest. This 1600 acres patch of woodland is situated on the A525 between Wrexham and Ruthin and has recently received approval to be developed into an all-inclusive mountain biking centre of excellence which is due to open in Spring 2004.

Initially there will be two specifically designed trails offering riding for all ages and levels of ability. These will consist of a family and intermediate routes.

The Pack races through Llandegla Forest

The family route will be constructed to provide the feeling of riding in an off road environment whilst catering for the family group. It will be approximately 11km long and offer stunning views and a variety of different landscapes for the riders to pass through.

The intermediate route will provide an exciting and visually breathtaking ride through a myriad of differing landscapes and riding terrain. It will be 20km of adrenaline pumping excitement, with various technically challenging obstacles demanding a wide range of riding skills and techniques.

When the going gets tough!

The centre complex will be the first purpose built centre in the country to offer the suitable infrastructure needed for such a facility and will be the focal point of the whole project. The centre café will offer a full range of pre and post ride refreshments, there will be a bike hire facility offering a high standard of mountain bike, a workshop for all those mechanical problems encountered whilst riding, retail shop selling equipment and a full range of tuition courses for those people wishing to learn the necessary skills and techniques of the sport, a classroom area for courses and school visits, outside seating area and a jet wash for the all important cleaning of bikes and equipment.

The project promises to offer an exciting addition to the outdoor pursuits related industry within Denbighshire and can only enhance the growing reputation the county is nurturing as the leisure and tourism gateway to North Wales.
